Prof. Maheep Bhatnagar, M.Sc. Ph.D. FIANS, FSSE, FWSCMB, is a renowned Neurobiologist from M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur. His postdoctoral research at Royal Postgraduate Medical School, London (1986-1987) led him for the first time show a relationship and role of atrial natriuretic peptide secreted by pulmonary vein myocardial cells in essential hypertension. His studies at Oregon Regional Primate Research Centre, Portland, USA (1989-1991) also led him to demonstrate for the first time, that stress conditions modulate both secretion and synthesis of somatostatin peptide from hypothalamus. |

He was a Guest Scientist at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm to work on glucorticoid receptors and nerve growth factors in the brain that modulate ageing. He received gold medal for getting first position in M.Sc. (1976), ODASS award (1986), Karolinska institute fellowship to work in several laboratories of UK, USA and Sweden. He delivered numerous plenary and invited lectures in National and International conferences. He is an editorial board member of several National and International Journals and has published about 100 original papers, several articles, contributed chapters and written 10 books. He had been Vice president of Indian Academy of Neurosciences in 2004 and President of National Society for Science and Environment 2006. |

Prof. P. P. Sood, M.Sc., Ph.D., FIANS, FSSE, FWSCMB, retired Prof. and Head & ICMR Emeritus Medical Scientist, Department of Biosciences, Saurashtra University, Rajkot, has major contribution in neurobiology and toxicology. He has published 190 original research papers covering 80 journals of International repute, 20 chapters in books and 3 books. He was awarded Indo-French Cultural Exchange Fellowship in 1985, French Ministry of Foreign Affair Fellowships in 1987 and 1991 to work in several laboratories in France. |

Dr. Sood is co-editor of the International Journal “Cellular & Molecular Biology” (France) from 1987 on wards as well as editor and co-editor of 5 National Research Journals. Dr. Sood was Dean and Vice President of Indian Academy of Neurosciences in 1993 and 1995, Vice President of Indian Society of Neurochemistry, 2003 and President (2004) and Dean (2005 on words) of Society of Science and Environment. He served as Moderator (Chairman) and organized Symposia on “Cellular Toxicology” in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th World Congress of Cellular and Molecular Biology held in Paris, 1991. Ottawa (Canada), 1996, Jena (Germany), 2000 and Poitiers (France) 2005. He received several awards during his 40 years of teaching and research career like Gold medal in M.Sc., 1966, Hari Om Ashram Prarit Research Award in 1989 for his research work in Neurobiology and Life Time Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution in the field of Toxicology by Society of Science and Environment, New Delhi, 2002. |
